The expertise group Wärtsilä will perform an upgrading project of the electrical and automation systems to make sure optimal reliability of the Kribi energy plant within the Republic of Cameroon.
The 216 MW plant has been in operation for nearly ten years, operating with 13 Wärtsilä 50DF dual-fuel engines running totally on pure gas. At the time of commissioning, it was the biggest gas engine energy plant in Sub-Saharan Africa. Wärtsilä may even help the customer’s operational and upkeep performance with a 10-year long-term service agreement.
The order with Wärtsilä was placed by Kribi energy development company (KPDC), a subsidiary of Globeleq, an unbiased energy producer (IPP) and the owner and operator of energy producing facilities throughout Africa. The order shall be booked in Wärtsilä’s order intake in Q3/2022.
“The Kribi energy plant has a significant role inside the African power sector. It remains to be right now supplying two-thirds of the thermal power in Cameroon. เกจวัดแรงดันราคา relies heavily on hydropower, but has unsure resources of water. The Kribi plant, therefore, performs a key function in ensuring a provide of safe, low cost, and reliable vitality. For this cause we’re eager to upgrade the power plant’s automation systems to the latest design to make sure optimum reliability, and to strengthen our cooperation with Wärtsilä, leveraging their competences on a steady basis throughout the framework of the long-term service settlement,” commented Gionata Visconti, Chief Operating Officer, Globeleq.
“Wärtsilä has a powerful regional presence, which permits us to offer valuable technical help that optimises engine performance and maximises the manufacturing capabilities of this power plant which has such a big function in Cameroon’s energy provide. We are also in a position to ensure the availability of important spare elements, and this is an essential factor within the long-term service agreement between our corporations. เกจวัดแรงดันถังลม in all, this is a very important project, each for the client and for Wärtsilä,” stated Markus Ljungkvist, Vice President, Services, Wärtsilä Energy.
The challenge is scheduled to commence in 2023. To make sure the continuity of the plant’s output, the work might be carried out on one engine at a time.
