Rotork assists BAE Systems in naval base actuator upgrades

Rotork has been working with BAE Systems to improve a series of A-range actuators to IQ3 actuators which function penstocks controlling motion of ships between the ocean and transitional locks and dry docks at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Portsmouth (HMNB Portsmouth).
A sequence of A-range actuators had reached the top of their operational life after long service in a difficult setting. BAE Systems wanted to retain all the benefits of electrical actuators, so IQ3 actuators were chosen. เกจวัดแรงดันคือ needed to be specially adapted by Rotork to overcome issues around confined spaces and tough access.
IQ3 actuators and IS gearboxes had been mechanically tailored so that each actuator and gearbox might be operated by hand with out entering the confined house. Rotork designed special hand auto levers and through drive mechanisms for the actuator and gearbox to remove the need for confined area entry.
Actuators inside the IQ vary are watertight, providing ingress protection to IP66/68 at 20 m for 10 days. They have an advanced dual stacked show with configurable knowledge logger performance, and an absolute position sensor provides reliability and accuracy.
