Pumps rental unit cleans up KZN within the wake of a disaster

In the wake of the flooding and landslides that occurred in KwaZulu-Natal in April and May 2022, 448 folks have been left lifeless and greater than forty 000 displaced, with harm to roads, schools, water infrastructure and companies.
On 18 April, President Cyril Ramaphosa declared a nationwide state of catastrophe. As repairs received underway, one of many first issues many flooded companies confronted was to do away with the water and debris of their factories or warehouse premises. “We rented our unit to 2 companies for several weeks at a time to assist them in servicing their clients’ in Durban and the surrounding areas after the horrific flooding,” says Sebastian Werner, Managing Director at Werner Pumps. “It’s the first time that the unit has been used for disaster restoration efforts after flooding. It was good to be able to assist in some way by sending the mixture truck from our head workplaces in Springs right down to our KwaZulu-Natal purchasers to help. It should have accomplished an excellent job because one of the firms has now ordered one from us to help with their ongoing air pollution control and industrial clean-up operations.”

The high-pressure pump is fitted with a pneumatically operated regulating valve, making infinite strain adjustment potential, thus rising the protection of the operator throughout use.
“It’s ideal for every thing from sewer and stormwater cleansing and upkeep, to sludge and slurry elimination, separator cleansing, contaminated liquid restoration, recovering solids, and cleaning surfaces,” says Werner. “In the wake of a disaster, it could be used to scrub up standing water or to clean smoke-damaged amenities. We’ve found there’s demand for the unit from municipalities and contractors to bridge a gap when they’re ready on a unit, or for budget to turn out to be obtainable, and for people who want it for a selected time-bound application.”
Ultimately, Werner says, the corporate want to construct up its rental fleet to service the rising demand. “When one thing happens and someone urgently needs a truck, as was the case with the flooding, we would like to have the power to ship them one instantly,” he says. “Our goal has always to be a one-stop shop, and to ensure our prospects are able maintain operating at all times, so we’re finding ways to assist them try this.”
