Amarinth offers API 610 pumps for the West Qurna-2 growth venture in Iraq

Amarinth has delivered two separate orders of API 610 pumps, collectively worth £1.2 million, for the West Qurna-2 expansion project in Iraq.

The massive pumps had impellers of over 500mm diameter and the casings, that weigh 1.5 tonnes, were solid in a foundry in the UK. Plan 53B seal support methods have been designed to suit inside a constrained footprint and as the pumps have been destined for an ATEX Zone 2 area, the motors, seal support techniques, and instrumentation were IECEx licensed. Witness testing and inspection was undertaken by Bureau Veritas and a full legalised Iraq documentation package deal was delivered with the pumps.
